Fiber Optic Plate Coupling to Image Sensor Array
Fiber Optic Plate Coupling to Image Sensor Array
A sensor array is a group of sensors, usually deployed in a certain geometry pattern. It adds new dimensions to the observation, helping to estimate more parameters and improve the estimation performance.
Fiber optic plate (FOP) is used for guiding light and image to the sensor array. FOP provides high efficiency of light collecting compared to lens and other methods, and it is therefore not surprising that the majority of indirect detection schemes rely on this light coupling method. HONSUN has a variety of different types of glass fiber (including strongly X-ray absorbing) combined with interstitial material (extra mural absorber EMA) with different levels of light absorption. For efficient coupling, the FOP must be placed as close as possible to the sensor array surface and fixed in position for reproducible imaging.
